Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs in the final to lift their maiden IPL title.
The bowlers of Sunrisers Hyderabad put up an incredible performance in the final of IPL 2016 to lift their maiden IPL title. Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli’s hundred-run stand went in vain as Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers succeed to restrict the Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs to win the maiden title of their IPL journey.
In their first IPL final, Inform Sunrisers Hyderabad showed their intent early by choosing to bat first after winning the crucial toss in final. The in-form captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad David Warner scored 38-ball 69 runs followed by 15-ball 39 runs firing innings by Ben cutting in the death overs. But eventually, it’s the bowling attack of Sunrisers Hyderabad that helped them to win their first IPL title.
MIDDLE ORDER FAILURE:
Royal Challengers Bangalore get an excellent start after firing knocks from Gayle and Kohli who had a scintillating opening stand of 114 in 10.3 overs. But once this duo backs in dug out followed by Mr. Dependable AB de Villiers, the middle order of RCB collapsed in pressure chase game of final. Bhuvneshwar kumar bowled excellent yorkers in death overs to seal the victory for his team also winning the purple cap for highest wicket taking in this IPL.
Royal Challengers Bangalore finished eight runs short of massive 209-run target as they managed 200/7 in their 20 overs to suffer their third defeat in three finals.
